In order to reduce internet traffic that keeps increasing due to the coronavirus lockdown. Photo app in Google will stop supporting back up videos and photos automatically from WhatsApp and Instagram.
Companies such as Youtube and Netflix made this action earlier this year for the same reason.
Photo app in Google is created with a folder in terms to store any media received through social media platforms. The reason why Google made this decision is they found that people share multiples of photos and videos on social media platforms such as Whatsapp, facebook and Instagram during Covid- 19 pandemic.
Some of the example apps that were affected said an XDA developer to the news site Android Police are as below:

-Snapchat
– Messages
Note: Old backed up photos and videos from messaging apps will not be affected, if you want to use it just turn the feature back on.
