These changes apply to all .MY extensions, including .my, .com.my, .org.my, .net.my, .edu.my, .gov.my, and .name.my.
- Grace Period Changes
The grace period for .MY domain renewals has been updated to last for 1 to 30 days after the domain expiry date. During this time, you can renew your domain at a slightly higher rate. For example, if a .com.my domain currently renews at RM66/year (promotion), the renewal rate during the grace period will be RM86/year. This change encourages domain owners to renew their domains promptly and avoid potential issues caused by domain expiry. - Redemption Period Updates
Following the grace period, a redemption period will start from 31 to 55 days after the domain expiry date. During this time, you can still recover your domain, but with an additional redemption fee. For .com.my domains, the redemption fee is RM80, while for .my domains, the renewal fee is RM120. It is essential to renew your domain as early as possible to avoid these additional fees. - Premium .MY Domain Fees
Premium .MY domain names will be subject to 2x the renewal cost during the redemption period. For example, if the renewal fee for manila.my is RM4,000, the redemption fee will also be RM4,000, making the total renewal cost during the redemption period RM8,000. This policy emphasizes the value of premium domains and the importance of maintaining timely renewals. - Globalization Initiative – 10 Years Registration and Renewal Fee
In line with globalization efforts, .MY domains now support registration and renewal for up to 10 years. This new policy aims to provide domain owners with more flexibility and convenience in managing their domain registrations.
